Nordfab’s industrial QF ducting is a proven performer in a variety of industrial ducting applications. In simple terms, a dust collection system requires only a vacuum cleaner system. This involves a motor and fan to “suck air” into the system. There will then be the dust collection ductwork which transports the waste and some form of machine connection or capture hood. The dust collector is basically the vacuum cleaner itself. It’s filters the dust laden air, captures the separated waste and returns clean air after the dust has been filtered and extracted.
Flexible hoses with a metal grounding helix need to be correctly earther to prevent dangerous sparks from static electricity. They are only suitable for shrt run because the the flexible nature creates much more static pressure loss than for rigid steel ducting increasing energy use and reducing performance. Non conductive plastic ducting also has problems with static electrical charge build up and is not recommended. Metal ducting is the solution on almost all industrial ducting systems as the smooth ineterior of rigid ducting reduces static pressure loss, even over long runs.
Clamp fit ductwork like Nordfab QF clip ducting is a rolled edge duct system, sections of duct have a rolled edge that is joined quickly with a simple tool-free clamp or QF clip. The advantages of this system include reduced installation time, perfect alignment leading to better performance and minimal static pressure loss in the duct runs. Clip fit QF ducting uses a clamp together ducting systems can be taken apart and reconfigured quickly and easily.
Wood dust extraction and wood waste collection are traditionally strong segments for Nordfab ducting in the UK. The wood industry has been quick to recognise the benefits of Nordfab QF industrial ducting. Enhanced flow rates and reduced leakage rates help to improve the performance of the ductwork and minimise duct blockages. These can be expensive and time consuming problems leading to delays and lost production time. It can be a particular problem in the wood industry where large material volumes will often be extracted through the duct system. Not only is Nordfab QF less prone to blockages due to it’s smooth design, it’s also easier to clip apart ducting and remove blockages.
